Make sure you switch roaming off Stew.I have just been charged £39 for posting a few pics on this site a few calls and having my internet on in the background. I was only there for 9 hours Its a very nice place but very busy traffic wise. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.

A lovely island... we went camping there in the school holidays...
A couple of recommendations:
To eat
-------
the hungryman at Rozel (north east) - fantastic food cabin that does some lovely burgers. you can't eat inside, so you'll need decent weather
El Tico - cracking restaurant on the west coast - quite a wide variety of food, casual style, but we thought it was excellent and went a couple of times
Rozel also has a great small tea shop if you fancy a cream tea
Beaches
---------
St Brelades Bay
Beauport Beach
Plemont Bay
And finally, visit Durrell Zoo... we spent hours just watching the orang-utans and gorillas. Its not big, but you can easily spend some time there
enjoy!

The Portelet Inn at Portelet Bay is a good pub with good food served until 9pm. Fantastic beach too with a wood fired pizza place. 10 min drive from st Helier.

Not actually the case since June. You can now use your contract minutes, texts and data in Jersey without charge as if you were in the UK.

Love Jersey. We were there in August.
St Brelades our favourite beach. Crab Shack is nice to eat on the front there.
If you like steak then Wildfire is amazing. Honestly I'd go back just for the steak. It's amazing. So good.
Lots of nice beach front cafe's
Underground hospital is great. My wife loves the shopping in town.
Just don't break your car as Jackson's are useless.

On the roaming issue Three now include Channel Islands as at home rates. so 3p call 2 p text 1p per mb, used to be stupid money before.
Pretty certain that makes it cheaper than local phone companies rates.
Underground hospital well worth a visit as said before D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST

Christ!! Used to go there when I was in my youth and resident there, over 50 years ago. I remember the food was good then. Used to go belting down the 5mile Road in a Morgan. Think it was before the all-island speed limit (30). Surfing and beach parties too. Great days, lovely place.

As a family we lived on jersey for 3 years back in the mid/late 70's (dad's job). Rozel (great ice-cream) and Bonne Nuit are 2 fantastic little harbours and Grève de Lecq is a great beach. All 3 are on the North coast. Parents used to take us to Ouaisné for a walk on the beach and then lemonade and a bag of crisps in the Old Smugglers Inn. Hope at least one of these is still valid
