Trailer (with Nato) moving
We've recently got the camper trailer bug, and I find myself having won an NATO hitch equipped trailer that the seller seems to want gone more quickly than I anticipated?
The urgency has caught me off-guard as I haven't yet located the bits to go between the NATO hitch and fixed LR towbar on our D3.
Is there by an amazing coincidence anyone who might go past Pontefract and down to Oxford who has a NATO hitch! For some beer / wine / gin tokens.
Or in fact anyone with a drop plate with the NATO spaced holes on the outer plate that I can buy?
I know it will be nose down until I switch to the recovery mounted fixings.
Not asking much I know!

thanks Jack, that might have to be the answer.
I just realised that I could drop the trailer in Newark, which is 1 hour down the A1 from Pontefract.
Still a really big ask, bit maybe, just maybe more likely?
There is a current thread on an adaptor for emergency towing of a NATO trailer with a 50mm ball hitch. Sounds like what you need.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Which hitch is it, my old NATO Mk 2 sankey style had a Bradley MH15 hitch and the eye could be swapped for a 50mm ball , with two bolts
Its the only one I have seen , but I note John Richards has stock of the complete hitch

Its a Rapier trailer apparently, I don't think it has those bolt holes.
But I haven't seen it yet.
I don't seem to be able to upload a photo, but the hitch is in-line like your pic, as opposed to on top of the chassis.

I've looked at that thread but I don't think I can get hold of one, and at a VW forum where someone bolted an adaptor to convert to 50mm.

I got an adjustable height plate and could attach my Nato hitch and was able to collect the trailer.
However longer term I definitly want to get either an attachment to the recovery eye for the top of the plate or to totally replace the hitch with one which attaches to both points anyway.
