Winter seasonal tintent pitch advice |

I'm thinking of leaving my tintent sited in Norfolk for the winter for the first time. I can leave power connected whilst I'm not there.
What would you recommend I do to keep the tintent OK over the season? I am thinking low power heater and possibly a dehumidifier as well (constant drain, but would need to make sure it doesn't freeze up?)
I would drain down the water after weekend use, anything else I need to think about? There are two rules for success,
1. Never tell everything you know.

Not sure either of those (heater & de-humidifier) will make much difference.
If your caravan is sound it should be fine just locked and left. The heating will just be a waste and the de-humidifier only works if you seal up all the vents so that there is no flow of air in or out whatsoever.
Do make sure to drain the water system down, however.

^ Agree we leave our Motorhome unheated/non humidified but with ALL water drained out well prior to any freezing temperatures. Shower Head pipe seals are the first to go if left full and not lowered from fitting and drained.

I drain down the water system, leave all windows in the 'vent' position and run a 12 inch fan for a few hours every day/night on a timer, just to keep the air circulating

As above really, open all interior doors and lockers, not forgetting the fridge and if soft furnishings are not removed, at the very least don’t leave them against the side of the van, let the air circulate, wouldn’t bother with a dehumidifier, you van isn’t airtight, as fast as your taking the moisture out the air its being replaced. Must admit though we having alde heating do have it set at eight degrees through winter just in case but with the insulation In the current van it is rarely on, whenever I check the internal temp seems to be around twelve.

Open all doors, disrupt bedding. Oil filled heater on thermostat to start at six degrees.
I got from eBay for a couple of quid a thing that looks like a plug-in timer but is actually a switch worked by the remote thermostat control. Heater in middle of caravan but thermostat at one end away from windows.
I do use mine throughout the winter and it takes ages to heat up properly again. Plates at back of cupboard are the worst. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. If you go for a dehumidifier, make sure it's a desiccant type not the more common refrigerant type. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Hi
Use ours most of year to be honest.
But when i have left it standing for a few months i leave all doors, cupbaoads open, bedding removed, as provide as much air circulation that i can.
That should keep the van in an ok condition.
As for heater left on etc, its a long way from Nottm to Norfolk to keep an eye on?

That's one thing I thought about, if it goes wrong.
Pretty much seems like do the same as storage really. I only asked as I don't have electricity in the storage yard, but would on the site. There are two rules for success,
