Window tinting - Perth
I've searched and found several comments on window tinting from a year or so ago - just wondering on updates and prefered installers in Perth.
Barbagallo's want $795 to tint the car prior to delivery (maximum legal tint, metallic film from a company called Sabre) but apart from the sillyness of the price the aftermarket salesman doesn't inspire me to spend any of my hard earned on his bonus!
Any local suggestions? Is the 3M carbon film still prefered?
I also will need to get mats - suppose Barbagallo's is the only source?
Thanks,
Steve
PS: delivery scheduled for early Feb

G'day Steve
We had the 3M tint done a few months ago by DMS in Osborne Park after originally having it done on our subaru (they did a good job). Cost was about $450 less $50 discount if you are an RAC member (I signed up for a $20 RAC membership to get discounts such as those offered by DMS!). DMS offer a lifetime warranty so long as you own the car (unfortunately I understand that it does not pass to the new owner if you sell - that could be a lifetime anyway). We are happy with the job.
Floor mats - if you are eligble for the LR corporate plan then you get free floor mats, free servicing (excl consumables and parts etc) and some other things that escape me right now. Talk to your dealer about whether you are eligible.
Feb seems so far away - but it will be worth the wait - you will be

thanks for those ideas - must check out the corporate plan option - sounds very useful!
The Bolle tint was through Solace - and it ceramic based, rather than carbon based like the 3M. One reason it is more expensive, is that Solace have to pay a license fee for the use of the "Bolle" name. Either of these would be fine - as it does not block RF to antennas, unlike metal films.
