D4 coming back, D5 loan car going back |
|
My more recently purchased D4 commercial is coming back from dealers this week after its second visit to fix all the bits missed on the approved used system.
They very kindly loaned me a D5 SE TECH - something or other with the 2.0 Diesel engine.
I still do not like the look of them, doubt I ever will.
However, I did like some stuff.
It’s nice and comfy.
Do not dislike the small engine, goes okay expect it would get better with use. It only has a few hundred miles on it. Fuel economy is not as good as my V6 diesels!
I am used to driving large vehicles, this thing feels huge and very impractical to use. It’s not anything like my D4’s.
I think they are way too much money for what you get and could not justify spending so much on something I would like less than current items.
Sat in it driving along is the best part, the rest is not for me.
Hopefully my current options will last a very long time! Discovery commercial tdv6 auto 2013

Best review I’ve heard of the D5 yet exactly my thoughts on it after my test drive, it’s huge but very nice from the drivers seat...
Never thought I’d say it but the disco sport seems like a better idea until something else appears to replace my current D4 commercial! MY14 post man pat van

And lots of other stuff in my shed, on my driveway or abandoned in the village
Several VW T5's
Mitsubishi outlander
And a Suzuki X90... Only drive that at night

Glad my thoughts match those of other Discovery users.
The fiasco getting the D4 back was epic, and they still have issues unresolved.
However, it’s lovely to have it back.
Not so sure Discovery sport is the solution, disliked the loan one of those rather a lot!
Good luck with the next vehicle. Discovery commercial tdv6 auto 2013

Sept 2017 - My 2012 Disco 4HSE - fully dealer serviced since new - WITH ONLY 33,000 miles on it - engine destroyed (crank shaft bearings - JLR's best kept secret?) and Lookers quoting £22,500 to replace with stripped engine - all ancillary pumps, alternator etc to be transferred from old engine. Bought Disco 5 HSE wrong side of £60k to keep business going - had to jump start it every day for first ten days despite being back to dealers - reported 'software error' - how did that get passed JLR's quality control and dealers PDI?
