Sump guard bolts seized
Some has put the sump guard bolts back in dry and 4 of them are seized solid. I have tried hammering them soaking them but the socket is starting to slip, is this a common issue?2005 Discovery 3 HSE
Try a fluted socket and an impact wrench on them. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Those bolts thread into nut clips, most likely using an impact gun will just snap those so the bolt will just spin.
My access plate has been off loads of time and even now they can bite a bit. You do need a socket that fits really well. If you get them out then give them a really good clean with a wire brush.IID PRO

Good point, though, unless I've got confused somewhere, not all of them are clips.Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Removed my sump today in preparation of giving the beast a full service.
As above, my bolts appeared to be completely seized and possibly over-tightened
Even after being liberally doused with WD40, had zero movement with a 13mm socket on a 1/4" ratchet on any bolts and some looked as though they were on the verge of slipping.
Gave all the bolts another dousing of WD40 and went at it with a 13mm impact socket on a breaker bar.
Some bolts gave out a satisfying crack, but after a few turns with the breaker all could easily be removed with the ratchet
I didn't really take not, but I believe there's only 2 clips
Thanks for the tip Lost For Words! I'll definitely be using some copper grease on the new bolts "Buy a Land Rover" they said ...
