Issue With 3rd Button After Key Fob Battery Replacement |
|
Hey lads!
I replaced the battery in my key fob yesterday as the original was getting very weak. All went 100% better than expected, managed to get the right battery first time, didnt burn myself with the soldering iron and only cut myself once with the stanley knife.
Key is all back together and locks and unlocks the doors and starts the engine no problem, but no function when pressing the 3rd button.
Ive tried setting it up to open the boot, turn on the lights and raise the suspension, but it hasnt worked on any occasion.
I was exceptionally careful to avoid damaging the circuitry, from shorting, ESD and physical damage during the battery swap so im pretty confident no damage was done during the swap...but the button definitely worked prior to the battery swap.
Can anyone shed light on what might be wrong?!

As a rule of thumb, if it worked before you touched it and doesn't now, it's something
you have done. open it back up and check for dry joints around the button or solder tails touching something they shouldn't. 2005 Discovery 3 HSE

Is'nt that button programmable, which means removing old battery will remove programming - so maybe you just need to programme it again.
