It's a very good site. Expensive but worth it. Well run, good if you have kids or dogs.

Looks ok. We have been to the la Garaingoire for the last 7 years which is a couple of miles away. But need to book about 9 months in advance as the pitches go quick. Going to target some carp at the lac de jauney this year. But it’s full of cats so not easy fishing. Creperie on the lake is awesome, but you need to book at the weekend. They have some nice ciders also James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

There are better sites around that area that we prefer - Le ferme du Latois is a dutch RCN run site which has bigger pitches and quieter (but still with pool, bar, restraunt and a lake) - near Coex
We are trying another site not far from la Garaingoire (which I also thought wasnt as good as it had been cracked up to be) - to many brit tourists

Agreed La Garaingoire is pretty English, Welsh, Scottish biais but on the flip side it is all the same families that go back every year. Means kids have instant friends and can go off and play in a safe environment.
The staff are great and there is a lot to do. It isn’t Brit’s abroad and you can hear a pin drop after 10pm. Each to their own but works well for us and as we have been going so many years we are pretty much guaranteed what pitch we want. My only gripe for the Vendee is the weather. Can be so mixed and last year we had a lot of rain and it was cold. Year before was better.
Since moving to Scotland it is now a 2 day journey which is also a pain, from Herts we could do it in one hit. James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

Al
Had a look at the Dutch site, looks very nice
Just the sort of thing we are looking for.
Large pitches, fishing lake, bike routes & plenty for our two boys of 14 & 10 to do.
If anyone has anymore recommendations please feel free to add your comments.
