Multiple Faults this morning
Morning
Tried to start the Disco (MY10 HSE) this morning. Something far wrong....
I got a variety of 'flashed' messages on the screen - Gear Transmission failure, Error Code A86 (I think - it was very quick), Airbag fault and some others which I can't recall.
No noise of the engine turning but I noticed that the analogue clock was busy returning the hands to 12.00.
The brake pedal has, over the past few days, felt very firm on starting up but is fine when car starts. There is a squeak from the rear brakes first thing as well.
Finally, there is a mid-pitched drone from the engine at very low revs.
Clearly, it needs to go to the garage to get all of this checked out. In the interim, any thoughts on likely cause(s)?
Car left at home just now - have used the wife's Evoque for today until I can get back and get something sorted.

Both battery (original LR from manufacture in 2010) and alternator passed the breakdown man's hand-held scanner thingy, so no idea why the battery was completely dead.
Car now in the garage for them to check it thoroughly, plus look at a couple of other minor niggles.

Battery and alternator goosed. I need to pay for a new battery, but Warranty Direct cover the alternator.
Since I renewed the policy in September for £800, they've paid out around £2k for wheel bearings, EPB module and the alternator.....

I had my Alternator go recently, and a WB as well.
