FBH Exhaust sealing

Hi,

I've recently added a FBH remote and been running it with the bonnet open. When the FBH is smoking there is smoke escaping where the flexy pipe attaches to the alloy stub and also where the flexy pipe joins the silencer - is this normal or is there some sort of sealant I can use to stop the leaks please?

I'm sure somebody more knowledgeable than me will be along soon.... but I think they all do that. Mine certainly does upon initial fire up .... but once it kicks in and starts burning it blows properly through the exhaust pipe.

Hope this puts your mind at rest

Normal exhaust sealant would work but make sure the pipe isn’t split first.

Pete.

Mine does exactly the same thing from the joint of the heater and the flexible exhaust hose.

I’ve bought some exhaust paste and am just going to slip the hose off clean it all up and put it back together with some paste.

Unclear yet if the old jubilee type clip comes off but if it does then will try a new jubilee clip to hopefully make a tighter seal.

Hopefully will give it a go over the weekend and will let you know how I get on!

Jubilee clip is soldered on and a pig to take off the flexible pipe, I just put the putty around the end and smother in with wet fingers all sealed now
