Mudflaps
Any thoughts on the moulded ones that are like an extension to the plastic wheel arch?
Had them on my D3 but aren't fitted to my new D4 and not sure if they really achieve much?
My caravan got totally splattered when exiting a muddy track while being pulled by the D3. Any opinions, please?Just 'cause you got the power... that don't mean you got the right.

As for keeping mud and other muck off the side of the car (front or rear), I found them pathetic, however I used them as templates to fit ones designed for rally cars, that you cut accordingly, about the best use for them in my opinion.
By using the LR ones to determine where the holes need to be (I also added a couple once fitted), I cut them wider and deeper, and not being so rigid any chance of ripping them off on a kerb or similar is reduced.

Not done it myself but ISTR many on here have fitted Defender mudflaps as an upgrade - assuming not from the current model though

i use tuffrok ones and they are awesome !
Had already been thinking about changing over from my moulded LR ones.
So just had a look at Tuff Rok ……

….. until I put them in the shopping cart, moved to check-out …….. then £113
Will need a sit down & think !
Edited to add: WARNING - just went to their web home page - they’ve ceased trading !!!!!!
So no idea how they were allowing me to go through the motions of a purchase!...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

With the apparent demise of Tuff Rok, I’ve had a look around.
As they’re a Rally supplier, they should have good heritage & performance.
I went for the 5.5mm thick ones at £106
(£99.95 until you go through PayPal then return to seller …then carriage is added )
But that’s still versus the 4mm Tuff Rok ones @ £113
Still expensive though, but I’ll look at it being only £26.50 per corner.
(I know it states D3 …. I have a D4 …… but I’ve fitted unpainted D3 arches)

I fitted Australian spec . ones on the rear of my D3, which are deeper than the UK ones. Not sure if D4 had the same variation.
