Si, I wasn't sure either, thus the question.
Just seem to keep finding sites that reccommend fitting them and noticed that it hasn't been discussed here on disco3.co.uk, thought I would ask the question.Jim

Early days Jim, take a look at ARB site in Australia, they are the guys to promote most things LR. I work with GKN the UK importer of their geear.

I guess because they serve a different purpose.
Shackles are for attaching rope / strap to a recovery point
Jate Rings fix to chassis to provide recovery pointsJim
