Constant acceleration in cruise control
When using set function, speed just keeps on creeping up. Not as aggressively as resume but like a moderate throttle press. Not as strong as just keeping set pressed.
I've tried using the cruise control buttons to navigate the iid tool menus and it seems to work as expected. So don't think the switchpack is at fault.
The instrument shows the selected speed but the vehicle accelerates past that and keeps going until you cancel, brake or crash presumably lol
The cruise speed remains at the set amount in the display, and the cruise control buttons work fine to navigate the iid tool menu. Occasionally, speed minus control will change down the speed value in the display but the vehicle continues to accelerates. Mostly the speed down button just causes random values to appear in the display.
Have spoken to the team at gap, but they are stumped and suggested posting here, so.....

We get lots of dash/steering wheel button issues at work due to drivers smothering the dash in alcohol spray, this gets in the switches and effects the rubber membranes inside, so the switches can work okay but also do odd things at the same time.

Fair enough, although no liquid or cleaning products have been used on this D4 since I've had it.(some months now)
If it was a switchpack issue, surely the value in the ipc would rise as if the + button was pressed? Mine says 40mph say, but keeps accelerating. The display stays at 40 though!

Anyone else had this issue? Or found a solution? The expert is the last person called - usually to share the blame!
I remember an issue years ago in a Ford Mondeo where you could keep pressing the + button and it would try to get to 255KMH.

Not to my knowledge. Certainly nothing like that prior to this occurrence.
How would I know anyway? The expert is the last person called - usually to share the blame!

This sounds very similar to mine, not managed to find a cause yet. It does seem to maintain the correct speed going up inclines though, however on a slight down gradient it will just keep rising slightly until I ‘chicken out’

I have this issue, worked fine then suddenly this acceleration started on cruise control selection.
It started at the same time I started getting occasional faults from the ABS ECU, invalid data received from some other ECU, I will have to look back, was related to headlights (weird)...
I have read a few threads on the internet about others with the same issue, no one has posted a solution.

Had this on a customers car once. Set cruise at any speed, and it would accelerate by its self upto 80-something mph. Had us stumped for a while!
The EPB module had broken off the bubber mounts that secure it to the chassis, and was leaning forward
We replaced the mounts, problem solved. Be worth checkingMy D3 Build Thread
