My tire guy has suggested I consider these and I'd also be interested in some feed back.

Well, what are they like then? A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

So far I really like them but it feels like early days as we have had a very dry-summer so I haven't experienced a variety of conditions yet. They are very quiet on road but I haven't had a good serious off road test yet. I'd say they offer a mild to good aggressive tread pattern that should be good for our wet climate and should do well for my off road needs.
According to my tire guy, Maxxis are trying to gain market share in Canada so their products are offered at a good price point. He felt compared with GG AT2 (which seem to be a popular choice on this forum) they were equally as good for about 30% less.
I've got off road plans in a couple of weeks and will update this then Stewart

I'm thinking of getting some of these... any more feed back? My guy recommends them over General grabber AT's which he says have got less good - softer and edges rounded off. Lightweight Land Rovers have the quirk factor!

The Maxxis are very popular over here on the West Coast of Australia. Very good sand/desert tyre, quiet on the road and good wear characteristics (better than the Mickey Thompson ATZ's we had anyway). Not brilliant in mud, the GG AT2 is probably a little better, but good enough.

Thanks, I don't expect to be doing any serious mud plugging, but want a sensible AT, good to hear they seem ok. Thanks for the link to the review as well. Lightweight Land Rovers have the quirk factor!
