Calais to Portugal.... fastest route by motorbike

I know its not in the Disco but I am hoping for some route advice and as I just need to get there I am not interested in twisty little roads or off road so the bike forums aren't much help as bike travelers usually avoid the main roads.

I will be getting the Dover - Calais ferry on Thursday 28th June arriving in Calais about 7pm I think so I need a hotel near Calais with safe parking for my motorbike if anyone has any recommendations?

I then need to be in Faro, Portugal no later than the following Monday afternoon which gives me three and a half days to do it.

Has anyone done this run before and can recommend where to stop overnight en-route?

That's a massive ride. Would guess three 7 hour days then the last bit. Easy though a1 then a10 to Bordeaux then a63 to portugal.
I did run to the alps last year on my bike and had a similar tunnel. Stopped at maissemmy which isnt far off your route. Domaine Vadancourt. The house is an old chateua with
Big rooms. The owner made me and my mate a decent meal which we ate around 10pm. It's about 2 hours from Calais. Gets you into the trip. THe house isnt near anyone else so no issues around bike security. The rooms over the lake and garden are great.

Reading this making me all nostalgic Neutral

in 1984 i took a GS1000E and a friend on a moto martin framed gsx1100 engined machine

across france via Le Mons over the alps into Switzerland to Geneve back across Lichtenstein (in about 30 mins ) and back across northern France doing camping stops in a 2 week circuit

happy days, enjoy the ride the roads were fantastic then and stay safe Thumbs Up

Take the Portsmouth - Santander ferry.

Costs only a little more given the motorway tolls and fuel, you get to Santander in 24 hours rested.

Then head west from Santander and go through the Picos de Europa mountains and on into Portugal. Lots of good roads.
 D1 300TDI ES. just kept going, sold at 170k miles, body beginning to rust
D2 TD5 GS. sold at 140k, chassis beginning to rust
D3 TDV6 SE. 194k Still going.

Found the Domaine Vadancourt, thanks Ipken Very Happy

Ferry to Santander is full for the day I would need to sail or I would. I cant go on the Wednesday and the Sunday sailing would get there too late.

I had a GS1000E, loved that bike! I actually stopped in Lichtenstein last time for fuel etc so spent nearly 40 minutes in the country Smile

The return trip will be more fun and I fully intend to play in the Pico's.

May not entirely solve your challenge of getting to Portugal, but the following is a very efficient way of getting your riding done in your destination rather than on your way there...

We do this most summers in the Disco - with kids so logistics are somewhat different.

Calais at around 7pm, then head toward Le Mans / Tours for a late-ish finish around 1am.
Next day, get as close to the boarder as possible heading past Poiters and Bordeaux (In summer, can hit a bit of traffic around Bordeaux)
In Spain, we go past Valldolid, Salamanca, Caceres to Seville. Not many places to stay on that road, but it's toll free, empty, boring but easy. We'll stop when tired, probably a couple of hours north of Seville.
The next morning, from Seville, it's a couple of hours or so to Faro. Don't forget to register for the Portugal tolls on the way in.

I stop twice on the way but i have 2 children and i now drive a defender.
When i had the disco it wasn't much different.
If i leave here (Somerset) friday morning i get there on sunday lunch time.
But i turn towards Badajoz/Elvas.
