I, too, was going to say something but changed my mind. Disregard this post please... LeighW
The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

I deleted the wording (can the OP delete their own post?) after posting and then instantly realising I had been a buffoon asking the question, and the simple answer was to check what I had in the garage to compare the screw against a known size in a packet. The deleted post enquired how gauges are measured on self tapping screws.
I removed the wording as I'd felt a bit embarrassed asking the question, when finding the answer for myself was so easy and obvious, to be completely honest

You can't delete a thread only the text in it, if you want the thread deleting just click on the little red triangle in the top right corner and one of the mods will delete it if it was made in error. Cheers Ian
