Restricted Performance
My wife just had the dreaded 'Restricted Performance' light pop up, she got it home and I checked the oil level and found that it was on minimum.
I've got LRA coming out but does anyone know if the oil level reaching minimum would throw up the Restricted Performance light? Also, the car was serviced a few months ago, I assume I need to have them take it in to find out where the oils gone, I've not had to top up the oil on any of my cars in years!

What did the oil monitor say? Add 1l for example or something else?
Was it a red triangle or orange one?

Could be due to your missus not waiting the required time to check the oil level?
LRA should run the checks / codes but most folk on here (including me) that have had a D4 RP fault and it turns out to be intake system / manifold related, or in my case, the additional pleasure of a faulty Turbo shut off valve - good luck

Yep you were right about the oil level!
Turns out its the MAF sensors, phoned LRA and they sent the AA out who promptly diagnosed it and reported back to LRA. I'm dropping it off to my local dealer tomorrow to be fixed and apparently picking up a Velar courtesy car at the same time - so far can't fault the service so we'll see how it works out!

It's in for the next two days, I'm in a Velar HSE with a few hundred miles on the clock, nice car but it's no Disco!

Hmmm, perhaps it's no Disco, but it's bloody grown on me, lovely car, and it's certainly no slouch! I'd be lying if I said I haven't been pricing one up!

I had this one to play with a week or so ago. 300HSE R-Dynamic. I wasn’t (and still aren’t) taken by the external looks, but it was certainly a nice drive and went like stink. Mind you, at £70,000+ for that one it ought to!
My wife also had the ‘restricted performance’ message and a red critical warning triangle come up when she tried to accelerate to overtake. She was left in the overtaking lane with no power!
After stopping and switching the engine off for several minutes, everything went to normal and she drove home.
I contacted LR rescue who attended and found the fault in minutes -
“Customer reports restricted performance. Found charge air duct (plenum elbow) loose on mounting causing air leak. Cleaned and refitted and cleaned MAP sensor orifice also. Deleted relevant diagnostic trouble codes stored. No further action required.”[i]
