to all the parts specialists, - hope you can help. My Alternator is getting replaced on my 2010 disco 4 HSE. The alternator is on back order for p/n LR065866 from their suppliers. In searching various parts suppliers - it seems that LR013847 is also the correct part - according to Denso (DAN 1105). They are also vastly different prices. Anyone shed any light - are they different parts completely or has one superseded the other? thx in advance

Ok so I'm looking for an alternator for a 2016 SD basic model. The part I got (DAN1105) doesn't seem to fit apparently according to my mechanic. Something about being the wrong Ah, I seem to need the largest output? I've searched and it seems that there are about 4 different types for the D4!!!
The mechanic tells me he has done a search of local suppliers and no one has one in stock! I intend to get the part number off the old unit tomorrow and call AF to see if they have it in stock.
But I mean how many different types do you need??? Surely common sense says pick one that can do the job and make that for all styles of D4! Dave

SPN: LR013847
Alternator
supersedes to:
SPN: LR065866
ALTERNATOR
s/s to:
SPN: LR072756
ALTERNATOR
s/s to:
SPN: LR124836
ALTERNATOR
which is DAN1105 Denso.
All the same for 3.0 diesel GEN1 engines
If yours is GEN2, which it could be on 2016 you will probably need LR077395 (new) or LR088849 (exchange recon).
If you PM me your reg or VIN I can check
regards
Steve

Thanks Steve,
It was indeed Gen 2
£270 ish in most places, but none in stock.
LR new = £900
LR recon = £500
In the end I went non Denso because I needed it back and the mechanic wanted it off his MOT ramp. He did sympathise though, and had rang around all his local stockists Dave
