Just tried to fill the tank.....
Going away this weekend, towing the tin tent. Decided to fill the tank last night. It was showing 2 miles remaining, when I pulled into station.
Chose pay-at-pump, which said £99 max fill. Price was £1.299 per litre
Start filling, and didn't take much notice, as was talking to a D3 owner other side of pump. Pump clicks off. So put the nozzle back. Notice it had stopped at £99.03. Thought that was lucky.
Get in car, and gauge isn't quite at top. Decided to try again. It took another £10 before cutting off.
That puts it at just over 83 liters. Is that right? When it says 2 miles left, does it mean it? Is there a small reserve past the 0 miles left?
I remember reading a thread, where members were commenting on not being able to get much more that 70 liters in the tank.
When my Freel2 said 2 miles left, I would be panicking. It would start to cough and limp when it got to 1 or 0 miles left. I tried not to let it get low too often, but change of jobs meant no petrol stations on my commute. I have a short commute now, and literally have to drive 4 miles in the opposite direction to get fuel. I therefore try to plan fuel stops, hence it got low for last night.MY07 Freelander2 SE Santorini Black - Gone

I’ve refuelled mine a few times at 0 miles, generally only get 70ltrs in there. I work on 0 = 70 miles/10 ltrs.

IIRC the D4 has a slightly smaller tank than the D3. I've just put a tad over 83 litres in my D3 when it was showing 12 miles range left.

Tank capacity is 82.3 litres, approximately 3 of which are not useable to protect the high pressure system. The D4 fuel gauge is very conservative and typically shows empty with around 14 litres (11 useable) left in the tank.

Nah...First thing I did was check the floor.
Then again, after leaving it parked for an hour. No smells in the cabin.MY07 Freelander2 SE Santorini Black - Gone

Most I've ever got in my D4 (in 4 years) is just over 70l. And that was when it was showing empty.

Could be that the garage petrol pump isn't particularly accurate, could be a +/- tolerance allowed

I have similar findings. Most I’ve ever got in my D4 is 75l. My D3 swallowed 88l regularily

Most I’ve managed to fill in the the D3 was ~77 liters .. drained the wallet for €119 or 1.54 e/L. I, too, thought the tank was around 82 liters.
