Not personally, but did read some of the compatible spec oils are red, so red doesnt always mean its got the wrong gear in it.

I think the official ZF stuff is golden brown, and there are a lot of threads here advocating not using red ATF but only the ZF stuff.
I got Bodsy to flush my autobox and the stuff he used was 3rd party, assured me it was proper spec, and pretty sure it was reddish.
So perhaps if it’s been flushed before and it’s got 3rd party ATF fluid.

The answer could be in the reason you are changing the fluid! It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I'm changing the oil cause it's got 94,000 mls on the clock and there's no mention of a transmission fluid change I'm going to use Ravanol 6hp fluid as it's the same spec as ZF fluid.Land Rovers don't leak they just mark there spot

I used BG Universal Synthetic ATF which is red. It meets or exceeds (for Land Rover):
ESSO LT71141, TEXACO N402, TYK500050, LRN 13754, TEXACO ETL-7045E, STC 4863, STC 505.31, LR 002748, LR 023288, LR 023289
Out of that list TYK500050 is the LR OE part for D3 ATF fluid.
Been good, nothing wrong with BG products.

The correct LG6 fluid is a light honey colour and when well used is the colour of tea to black.
If you have red fluid in there, it is the wrong fluid.

Your best (and only) option is to have it flushed, to ensure the box has 100% of the correct spec oil in it My D3 Build Thread

Really? When I looked it I definitely thought ‘that looks red’!
Would swear blind it was red.
Though, not going to open the drain plug and find out ......
But then, I must bow to your wisdom, especially as it’s your oil!

When I had my new gearbox done one place said they use red as it’s all the same
Needless to say that place was crossed of my list
I only put Zf lifeguard 6 in mine as that’s what is recommended
My thinking is you wouldn’t put the wrong oil in the engine so why would you with a gearbox
And yes it may be a bit dearer but unless you do stupid amount of miles it’s nearly a once off unless u keep the car for everDisco 3 gone but not forGotten
