Engine Cleaning
Hello Fellow Land Rover Drivers
Just a very quick question. I have seen recently on the facebooks these companies offering 'engine carbon cleaning' has anyone has any experience of these? Or is it just snake oil?

I thought all the terraclean etc. ones were snake oil....?
Only things that aren’t snake oil, that I’m aware of, are fuel additives from BG, like 44K for petrol engines. it’s even recommended by Land Rover to solve problems with suspected clogged injectors (bulletin SSM 46917) on 4.2, 4.4 and 5.0 L petrol engines.
I won a competition a few months back and had my engine carbon cleaned, only thing they add to the machine is water that goes through a prices that produces hydrogen gas thus is fed into the running engine via the air intake for about an hour, nothing comes out of the exhaust during or after the process.
I was very sceptical as mine has 230k on the clock do when we went for the test drive I was shocked at how much better it ran and sounded and has done ever since, I’m also getting around 1-2 mpg better around town and 3-4 on a long motorway run.
I’d happily recommend it and have done and friends have had cars and motorbikes done and they all say there is an improvementRange Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8 what a car
