No fault crash - fix or write off

Just as I had decided that there was no better car for me than my D4 and I would plan to keep it for the next few years, someone appeared on my side of the road that I couldn't avoid and we struck me a glancing blow on the front corner.

I've had it recovered back home and want to harvest all my add on bits before it is taken away (CB, upgraded seats, second battery, rear screen entertainment etc) just in case it is not returned. Front driver's side wheel is smashed and has been driven back into the wing, driver's side door difficult to open, drive shaft no longer connected to gearbox, front driver's side wing destroyed. I know it's difficult to tell without seeing it, but does this appear to be a write off? I'd rather have it repaired if it can be made nearly as good as it was, but I don't want to be dealing with loads of issues.

Unfortunately it will depend on the cost of the full repairs/car hire/etc

Hope you can get it fixed properly and back to "new"

Hope also that no injuries to anyone in either car

OK, fair enough, I guess I'll wait to see.

No injuries to either of us, driver of the other car mostly embarrassed, apologetic and shocked, but physically fine. Her car is definitely a write off, but they did their jobs and kept us alive.

Gutted for you, sounds like a fair bit of damage, but it's still a 15k car so needs a lot to write it off I would think.
