Volume on Aux (Ipod) input ?
Hi peeps, anyone kow if there is a way to change the sensitivity of the Aux input ? I use it for my Ipod but it is very quiet, so anytime Miss Navigation chimes in the speakers almost get blown apart.

Whilst Miss Navigation is speaking, turn the volume down.
There is a bit on how to increase the volume from your iPod into the Aux using a Belkin adaptor

OK Volume is already at max on the ipod. From a purist point of view it seems a bit daft to be adding another amplifier into the chain but I guess I will be trying the Belkin thingy, as I don't really want to be opening up my electrics yet.
Thing is to use the I/O input, not the headphone socket - the Ipod volume control has no effect on this, it is just the source code as it were. Thies gives the hea dunit enough oomph to give you decent results. If you use the Belkin thing then you take the output from the jack socket on the charger and this is the i/o feed.
Or at least I believe that is so, I use a Creative Zen Craig

The earphone socket should not be used for anything but EARPHONES!
Alternative to the Belkin thingy try Pocket Dock (Google it!)Discovery 3 XS Auto, Stornaway, Active rear diff.

As you've got an HSE I assume you're rolling in it
Invest in a proper LR iPod thingy.

I/O input - I didn't think you could connect Ipods in this way. I just use a simple jack to jack cable from the headphone jack in the Ipod and it works fine. I have only a humble XS and the Input socket in the back of the central cubby hole is the only option I have.Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.

You need a dock connector type device to take the audio out.
Google is your friend... and XtremeMac a good site with good products.
The product you want is like the one in this link. Search Ebay for Monster car charger ipod
http://cgi.ebay.com/Monster-Car-Charger-AI...dZViewItem
You also need to turn off "sound check" on your ipod. The headphone jack is designed for a very low output voltage to conserve the battery whereas the i/o connector is not.
Good luck"A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part"
Hollywood have you used one of these- ie does it work ?

I ordered "Belkin Auto Kit for iPod with Dock Connector" - the cheaper one in white, although if it works well I suspect I should have ordered the more expensive but otherwise indentical black one as it would fit in better with the ebony interior and the black ipod. Doh !
