Having replaced my condenser and the middle pipes, as well as most of the o-rings, I've now been diagnosed with leaky rear pipes (to no-ones surprise). Both of the above jobs were ok, no broken bolts on the condenser which surprised me.
My question is, how big of a pain in the @rse is it to replace the rearmost pipes? I see from their location and direction that it's not going to be easy or fun, but I have access to a two post lift, and a large dose of bl**dymindedness. Do the pipes need to be bent or modified in any way? I know people on here have done it, even though some say it's a body off-job.
I have been quoted NOK 13k (approx £1k) by my local indy to replace the pipes, and 10k by an AC specialist to replace the low pressure tube that they say is leaking, with a hose. I'd prefer to replace both pipes, but the specialist claims the high pressure one won't be a problem.
So, my question is split in two. Is it possible for a (decently) skilled mechanic to accomplish this without extreme swearing and regret, and if not; new hose or complete pipe assembly?
