Near side mirror glass needed (LHS, UK) |
|
Impatience hath its own reward...
Post Office closes at 1pm. Remember at 12.40 pm that parcel needs collecting. Who knows what gadget / group buy / chrissie present THAT might be?
RUSH out in D3.
Traffic backed up.
Green lane goes Good reason to use it.
Drive (too) quickly down green lane. Hope the holly bush doesn't scratch the paint
WTF!!!???
WHO left that 4" branch cut off inside the greenery? and why is my passenger door mirror splatted on the door panel, hanging limply by its wires?
So, what's the best place to get one? Dealer I suppose On the warranty? - OK - how much do they cost?
A
PS Edit - glass only, convex, preferably without "Warning - objects in this mirror may be behind you!" 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

Thanks, Bill,
£40 plus £10 P&P - I'm going to wait for a few (hopefully) views on how much glass-only costs (IF its available).
I might well end up at the dealers early doors on Monday, because it's like being blind in one eye!! But the eBay is a second option, thanks again.
(Should have thought of it myself )

Andrew, there's a fair bit of chit chat here but no price but it might help with the part number

I think they are much cheaper than that! ISTR I paid about £25 plus vat.
I strongly suggest that you get your dealer to fit it, then when they break it they will have to get another one out of stores. They are a to fit correctly, and very easy to crack.

Difficult to fit Couldn't agree more.
I broke the plastic ring on the back of the new replacement that I bought. Some araldite came into play, but it was never a great fit.
The knack seems to be pushing it on at an angle then clicking onto the securing brackets, my click however was the wrong sort of click.
Good luck....... Mrs Jones ? We've come for your Liver

Done!
And so nice with it!!
Service manager was happy to chat, too but what he had to say confused me
"The software update to allow SatNav entry on the move doesn't work, and hasn't for all the dealers we have spoken to - there is a latest edition we haven't tried yet and we are hopeful... BTW it takes an hour".
Must post that on the appropriate thread as it is here
