The D4 fobs are very easily DIYable.
- get new fobs, part number for a genuine is LR052882 but plenty of copies on eBay for example
- get a new battery, you need one CR2032 per fob
- follow instructions https://www.discovery-parts.de/assets/files/LR4-Remote-Repair.pdf
It was the first mod I did on my D4 - first key took a bit longer as I didn’t want to use unnecessary violence. Second fob was fast to do.
Good luck

Yeah, I contracted out the changing of my rotten D3 fobs to Adam (RRUK). He has an excellent service and also did replace the 12 year old batteries on the PCB..
The D4 fobs are (IMO) easier to DIY. Similarly, replacing the battery on them is trivial as they’re designed to be user replaceable.

In my case the dealer wasn’t very interested in doing FOC jobs as the D4 was an import and not from them....
