Tbh I took an age before joining fb but have to say its not all its cracked up to be and whilst I do use it, if it was no longer there I would not be bothered in the slightest.
Set up a new email, and join fb with a false name/details and the new email just for fb and you are away.

When my daughter was 14 I just installed a keylogger in her PC , saved me a lot of worries..

She's a career woman, almost finished Leiden Law School [master ], left today on exchange to Cornell for the fall semester..
