Shorter auxiliary belt
My air con compressor has decided to part with the engine. As a result the aux belt no longer runs straight and comes off. As it’s nearing winter, and due to time constraints, is there a shorter bet I can run to bypass the compressor until I can refit it?

Yes there is, but it will be trial and error. WHen my aircon pump pulley failed, the AA guy had a couple of belts we tried so I could drive it home. Think it was for a Vauxhall something or other but it’s purely going to be trial and error.Bodsys Brake Bible

Measure the length required with a piece of string. Belts are specified by style, width and length.Richard

I used to have belts made to length and width by a company in Sheffield, 24 hour turn round, a Ggl search should find them, remember some timing belts are directional, marked with an arrow. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I've used these people recently for a mower belt. Very good service.

I second the string method - also useful for working out if a shorter belt will work without fouling anything.
I did the same on a Jag X-type after the A/C Compressor clutch melted and seized up the engine.

Temporary repair sorted. Had to get a 7 peak as nowhere had an 8 and it’s kind of an emergency. Length needed was a 1760mm.2004 Disco 3 HSE TDV6

I'm sure 7 will work just fine. 1760mm, handy to know
