Leaking Windscreen

Car went in with wet carpet in passenger side front footwell. Dealer came back to me and told me windscreen needs resealing and that they couldn't carry out the work as it needed a glass specialist.
I have owned the car from new it is 39 months old, so out of warranty, has covered 36000 miles and it is the original screen with no damage. I would have thought that a correctly installed windscreen should not be leaking at this age/mileage?
My car was one of those which had a problem with the upper screen finisher coming loose and needing rebonded. This was carried out in March 17 when I alerted them to the problem. I subsequently discovered that they should have checked for this during the service in July 16. When I pointed this out to them and asked if this could be why the bond has failed they told me they had no record of this being carried out.

They are getting back to me today.

When I looked at this issue on the site last night I was reminded that my car was only within 110 vehicles of those vehicles that were recalled for issues with glass bonding.

Also am I wrong in thinking that to reseal a windscreen you have to totally remove it and then refit? I had this problem on a Galaxy before due to a badly fitted replacement and the screen was replaced in that instance.

Thoughts and advice on this matter would be very helpful.

You seem to be driving HSE so I assume you have sunrof?
It might be simple case of sunroof drains blocked
I would not believe windscreen not leaking for 39 mothns suddensy started leaking

try unblocking sunroof drain pipes first
good luck

That's for the advise. Checked sunroof drains and all are flowing well, I've also checked behind the pollen filter and bone dry. Carpets have dried out so pressure washed round windscreen, no signs of water ingress. Thinking back we had a period of exceptionally heavy rain and car parked nose down at time, could the sunroof drains just have been defeated?
