Help Installing Parrot MKi9200 with AUX Connectivity

Hi all,

I'm in the process of fitting a Parrot Mki9200 kit into my 2007 D3 "S" (with HK amp). I bought it from these guys:

http://www.carcommunications.co.uk/land-ro...-1716.html

And the lead it came with appears to be a:

Autoleads Kram 67687S/X499V1/DA201 Parrot Lead

The phone aspect of the Parrot kits seems to work fine with no trouble at all. D3 stereo goes into "Phone Mode" when I make and receive a call and I can hear it through the front speakers. However, plugging my iPhone into the Apple Dock Connector leaves the D3 stereo display showing "Phone Mode" with the music only coming through the front speakers and sounding pants.

It seems this is a common problem - judging by other posts on here - and I've not wired-in the AUX circuit correctly. Ideally, I want to hear my music in full stereo through all 7(?) speakers in the car.

Do I also need to disconnect the AUX socket from the loom in the rear (or stick a blank in there)?

Please can somebody explain what cable needs to go where when plumbing one of these in? I've not used the cable that came with the Parrot kit yet - only the KRAM cable - so I wonder if this is my first mistake? That appears to have ISO connectors on it, though so it's no good for me.

Any assistance greatly appreciated. Where is Methley these days? PM'ed him but no response. Whistle

Thanks!

Steve

Good morning.

I seem to remember having a similar problem when I installed the 9200 in my D3.

I'm not sure if it helps, but my earlier car has the headphone socket in the back of the cubby hole between the front seats, and to get the Parrot to work properly a jack plug needs to be inserted in the socket. It just stays there the whole time and doesn't need to be removed when the parrot isn't functioning, but does appear to allow the parrot to activate the aux function.

This is how I fitted one in my old D3 before taking it out to fit a D4 module, although the Parrot phone was very good it took several minutes to load my contacts up every time it connected, during this time the phone could not be used, this does not seem to be an issue for you.
You have got it wired up playing music through the parrot module not the car module, that’s all I can tell you, have a read at the post below it may help.

 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
