Gearbox
Folks,
How often do you flush your tranmission fluid? I saw garages charging 2-300 £ for a mega flush type of thing (I understand you need to also empty the gbox sump and change the filter) this and then I found this;
I am quite interested in this, and I wondered if I bought one, whether anyone would be interested in borrowing/renting it? I am thinking I am going to have 4WD's with Auto boxes for a while to come!
Shame the forum cannot buy one and rent it out? I am getting a 2006 140K D3 HSE (Blanked EGR, Chipped, new lower Arms, oil, handbrake, broken FPH, new MOT). I am really excited and a but worried! I spent £3k getting a VW DSG box sorted, so I am slightly worried, I am used to simple boring cars, without the level of complexity, but rather looking forward to it all!
Also prop shaft fluids?
Many thanks in advance, loving the forum, learning like mad!

The above link works very well at the fraction of the cost.

Hi and welcome to the asylum
Plus 1 to the link above
If I may plse add, diagnostics is also a very good tool to have, ie A gap iid will be all that u need and pays for itself very quickly , there around £420 and worth every penny considering what main dealers charge these days

Hello please! I'm buying the D3 this week after it's had a spell on the garage. The mechanic is going to change the gearbox filter, and the transmission fluid, but we all know this only does 50% - but then I need to flush it, presume that is the best way of doing it?
