47kg lpg refill - what should I be paying?
We have 2 bottle lpg gas fire, 1st ran out and previous owners neglected to tell us the 2nd was also empty
Anyway, SWMBO owning at being cold, any rough idea on what I should be paying to refill?
Cheers

Before we got out tank installed I was using Calor 47kg bottles to run the central heating (no mains gas here) Depending where you bought it from, it ranged from £70 odd (for cash) to over a hundred at the local petrol station.
That was about 3 years ago so it may have fluctuated up or down since then

Hi,
as mentioned ^^ does depend which cylinders you have as MT's as some suppliers ask for a "deposit"
if you have Calor and have a Go outdoors near by they will price match and beat, so search tinternet for best price first (just over £100 on their web)
otherwise have a ring around locally our coalman was best value last time but its a few years ago (flogas then)

If you buy the right connectors, you can refill just about any gas canister yourself and save a small fortune.
Be aware though, most filling stations are still somewhat nervous of self fill and won't allow it.
You might need to find a tolerant filling station ( rurals are usually ok ) before splashing out but in a couple of fills, you'll have your outlay back.Mods:

Cheers all, back online now....
Loads of handy links and suggestions as usual, we're in Burtle about 15 mins from Somerset, there's a place up in Mark will try them this morning and get a price
Nigel, saw your self fill posts, may look at this longer term, our nearest petrol station does LPG, only 10 mins away also Iggy/Ieuan
