Boiling water on a connector |
|
I watched a utube video by a bloke who's D3 wouldn't start after the glow plug light went out. He took the top cover off and down a bit on the nearside near the front was a grey connector.
He took a kettle of seriously boiling water, poured it all over the connector, then it started.
What in the name of whatsit, is all that about ? 1955 SWB Series 1 86 inch

There are quite a few threads about this. Basically your are "fooling" the D3 temperature indicator for starting.
This might be a good place to start reading:

Doesn’t need to be boiling ,before I did my glow plugs I used this method and only used hot tap water

A year or two ago on here someone used to have two sensors and just have one in his pocket for a while to warm it up. All it probably needs to be is a bit above 0
