I found it was easier to leave the window regulator loose in the door, click the window into position then lift the regulator up and bolt it in.D1 300TDI ES. just kept going, sold at 170k miles, body beginning to rust
D2 TD5 GS. sold at 140k, chassis beginning to rust
D3 TDV6 SE. 194k Still going.

Thanks, managed to drill it out and replace with a metal dome head bolt. Just the job.

Then I got some suction holders that I found invaluable

I couldn’t for the life of me get the regulator out the door! Had to do it all in place. Window came out easy enough tho.You remind me of a younger me, not much younger mind...perhaps even a little older!

Ah yes , now that was good fun, I removed the front glass runner, then tipped the regulator on its side and it came out, fitted a new one at the same time of fitting new glass securing clips
