Only thing I would say is, are the drawers mechanically locked in when the lid is shut?

The drawers do lock shut when the lid is closed.

Yes, I can confirm that the drawers lock when the top lid is shut. Brought 3 and I've driven around with them in the van all day and no disasters , all the drawers have stopped shut and locked.
