One disc a bit hotter than the other |
|
Just replaced the rear discs and pads, all good there.
Thought I would use the infa red gun to check the temps on the front as well, and there is approx a 15 degree difference between the two sides.
This was after a 7 mile drive, and parking in the garage ,which is open on one side. The wind was blowing directly onto the cooler wheel. The wheels are not hot at all.
Is that enough to give brake judder?
For reference, they are both new calipers (about 18 months old).
Caliper slide pins?
Or am I worry about nothing?

Maybe recheck after a few more miles?
I assume you regreased the calliper slide pins when you were doing the pads?

If you have greased them they will be fine, so long as pads move freely in their stainless runners and the calliper pistons retracted smoothly and easily I would say all is good.

Go for another run and check again, or if it’s blowy again park the other way round to see if that’s cooler in the breeze.
