Map DVD - Read Error

"Map DVD - Read Error"

Anyone else had this error message on an HSE stanav? It's intermittent and usually turns up when trying to calculate a route (and then returns to the homw page), but recently it's started appearing on startup for a couple of minutes.

New disc?

Have you tried cleaning the disc?

Yep - had it out and back again. No visible marks on it.

May ask the dealer to take a look next time it's in there.

Cheers

I've had it as well as per my thread just below. Been back to dealer twice for a 'reeboot' of the system. I am not yet convinced it's sorted, had the car for fourteen months but only recently started playing up with this.

I had it as well. The dealer sent me a replacement disc (latest version Very Happy ) & that fixed it. I can't see why though, the original disc was never touched?

Mine's now back on track - I gave a disc another clean and hey presto it worked. Must have been a hair or something in the drive which is now dislodged.

The dealer did mention to me that I should check every so often to make sure the dust guard thing is closed as apparently they can work loose and fall open, letting all sorts of dust in there.
