If it is a Royal Navy aircraft, it is 6 bells.
If it is an Army aircraft, the big hand is on the 12 and the little hand is on the 3.

Was on a course at Brecon once and one of the instructors was a Marine. He told us to be back in the classroom by 2 o'clock. He went on to say that he said 2 o'clock because we were TA, if we had been regular army he would have said 14:00 Hrs. I chimed in that if we had been Marines he would have said when the big hand is on 12 and the little hand is on 2. He was not impressed
