Just done front discs and pads...

Needed to do my brakes today whilst the weather was reasonably decent. Fitted some Britpart discs, which look very nice, were very cheap, but we will see how long they last.

Hopefully they will last longer than the OEM discs that have just gone in the bin due to juddering. Shame as the pads were only at 50% and had many miles left in them.

Was that half a pad life to a set of discs?

After 77k miles I changed my D4’s brakes to the EBC performance discs and green pads. Considerably better than the standard ones.

Yes Dave, 50% wear. The inner surface of the old discs is very pitted on the outer edge, and there were several pad shaped marks on the surface.

XS discs Mike.

Example of marks on inner face of right hand disc.

Pitted ring on outer edge of disc.

XS discs are the better of the 2, as well as being coated to prevent corrosion

Used them for a while now and had no issues with them Thumbs Up

Fingers crossed. It’s been the thorn in the side of this D4, ever since new it’s suffered brake problems.

Closer examination of the old disc makes me think the radial marks could be cracks. It’s hard to tell. There is a definite ridge when you drag a finger nail over them.
