Remove glow plug near HPFP

Hello.

Is it really necessary to remove a bit of material from the HPFP in order to get the last glow plug out (rear one on the LH cylinder bank)? Is it not possible to undo the bolts on the front of the pump close to the crankcase vent oil separator and wiggle the pump about or does that screw up the adjustment somehow (or risk the belt jumping?)?

The manual simply states "remove the glow plugs", but that last one... I mean it is already loosened, so I am lucky so far but isn't there another way than to remove material from the pump housing?

It can be persuaded to come out without removing anything else, it’s tight, like really tight, but it will come out…it may be a little bent by the time you have it out. But it will come out Thumbs Up

A little bent... No bueno.

How do I get it out without running the risk of dropping a part down into the cylinder head and most of all: if it only comes out "a little bent", how do I get in the new one without bending it (=not an option)?

I ended up cutting the fuel pump belt prior to removing the tensioner. After that I removed the hpfp and then it is easy to remove the last glow plug.
It was actually sufficient to remove the 4 bolts holding the pump in place and just move the pump a little to the side (without a belt on the toothed wheel) in order to be able to lift the glow plug out of its hole, but I decided to replace the pump anyway so...
