High Pitch Squeal....Any ideas?? |
|
Driving to work yesterday about 10 minutes into my 50 minute journey my D3 developed a high pitch squeal from the front left hand side of the engine. I pulled over and at tick over there's no noise as soon as i touch the throttle the noise started again. It's very noisy between 1500-2500 rpm goes quieter about 2500rpm. I took it to a local garage near work, having looked on here I thought it might be the aux belt and pully so gave them my options on it as it sounds like a belt squeal. They drove it in to the garage on tick over saw the belt was chattering so changed the pully and belt. When they took it for a test drive after fitting the new pully they said it started squealing once the car was hot. After a few heated words when I picked the car up they looked into it a bit more and thought it was the left had EGR valve or manifold possible a gasket blown out. I'm trying to get it sorted through my warranty company who will only cover certain things. With a bit more investigation they then decided that it might be the exhaust manifold near to the turbo, which might be cracked... So my question is anyone got any ideas what it might be and how much it's going to cost. ! The car hasn't lost power, isn't overheating and I have no warning lights on just a very loud annoying squeal !
