Discovery 3 HSE 6 Spd Autobox removal and TC replacament

After putting it off for nearly 2 years the time has come for a TC swap. The car managed to drag our caravan to Devon and back despite the sick TC, so I feel it now deserves a new one.

It is a 2005, 54plate HSE. I know I am gambling on the gearbox not being shot too, but I am going to chance a 1k converter, before I commit to 3k's worth of box and TC! It has never thrown any errors, and feels good apart from the TC, so I am going to try a TC first.

After much consideration I am relying on Bristol Transmission's 'new' TC instead of a recon one at just under half the price. If they haven't found a recon TC then can rely on, then that tells me I should go for new. So, new TC purchased, metal sump, lots of genuine fluid, nice thick gasket, fat headed sump bolts and a new input seal ready for installation.

I have searched lots of posts on here, and haven't found any detailed guidance on box removal. If anyone can give me any pointers it would be much appreciated. I understand that I can leave the crossover pipe in place, just undo its mount from the gearbox? I believe I can leave the exhaust in place? I assume it is best to disconnect the propshafts and pull out the transfer box first?

Any advice and what to do, or not to do would be much appreciated - thank you.
