Surging from Suspension Pump....should I be worried....? 🤷♂️😳
Hello again!
Another suspension post here.....
The suspension pump / compressor on my Disco makes like a surging on/off type noise first thing in the morning and at the same time the dash and Head Unit lights go off and on.... also the Yellow “P” light flashes.....
Surely this isn’t normal...? Has anyone else experienced this?
Also.... the suspension saga down at the front overnight..... is this normal?
I’ve been told you can get a “refurb” kit for the Compressor..... Should I be looking for this and if so what’s the best place to source?
Thanks in advance yet again Peeps! 😝👍

As they get older they do go limp overnight at the front.
You can get valve block seals off ebay for £20 to help.
Probably want to check the battery voltage after start up.
Should be about 15V.
Alternator could be faulty.

Don’t imagine this will be helping then??? 😳😳
Seems like someone has bodged a new Terminal on there...
Anyone seen this before?
Surely there’s a kit out there to replace the terminals and do it properly?! 🤷♂️🤔🙄

That would be a major problem. You can do a better repair or purchase the proper cable that goes from the battery to the starter and then the alternator, might be pricey but then a lot of problems disappear.

don't think it's that much of a job all things considered.
Should be done under 2 hours.
Some 8mm bolts holding it to the bottom of the engine.
Most of the work done from under the car.
Tape the new one to the old one, and guide it thru.
Ensure the new one doesn't rub on the diff like alot do ATM.
Doing the alternator bolt is probably most difficult. Loosen that one early on
