Actually not just words are pattern recognition All of life is a decision of the brain to a few triggers. It makes the rest of the information up and only pays attention properly to something when it is well off from what it expects to see.

Give the brain what it expects to see or hear in a situation and it will just accept the whole scenario without question. You've much more important things to do with your attention - like texting whilst walking.....

It works most effectively on words of more than three letters and for those other words the first and last letters must remain in their respective positions...

And, off topic, I know, but if you want something to get the brain cells focussed, search for a font called Sans Forgetica (https://sansforgetica.rmit/, download and try it out on a document you need to really read AND understand. Not too bad.

The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)
