Aftermarket stereo pre fitted confusion. |
|
Evening.
First post so I apologise for the ramblings.
Just got my first d3 and have quickly realized how similar it is to owning a defender as no defender is similar to any other defender.
So anyway, d3 2005 not sure what package it's a manual, hardon kardon, steering controls, heated seats diesel heater but no sat nav or leather so was thinking s?
Sadly someone has fitted a vile pioneer head unit that lights up like Blackpool. It works OK who ever installed it has removed the amplifier and spliced in links back up to the stereo and also link in the vehicle alert signal. But not the steering wheel.
So I've got no control over the settings
I've got a nice pioneer double din to put in, I was also thinking if it is possible to fit a standard sat nav to use for settings. Have found some nice harnesses made up for similar installs but didn't know whether it would work with whatever spec I've got?
If anyone can shed some light it would be appreciated.

Because of the HK system you have to remove the amp or try and integrate it into the new system which isnt easy.

Alert signal?
The factory Nav requires the factory head unit. So I would abandon that idea.
It’s not very good anyway.
