RES screen is white and doesn't display a picture |
|
Hi all,
I've just bought a D4 HSE 2011 and one of the issues that I have is the rear passengers side headrest screen just comes up blank and white rather than displaying the picture.
I'm hoping its just a loose connection or something but could do with some advice where to start looking please
Cheers
Martin

Sounds like its a missing video signal so check the video wire back from the screen to the module. If youre lucky its just disconnected. Unlucky and you may need to do some DIY or get a new cable.
To confirm it, can you get a fault code?
Another thing you could try is to swop the head rest from left to right etc and see if the fault migrates or remains.

Ok thanks, that was my thought as well. Do you know where these cables connect ?
Can the surround be easily removed ?
I ask as I’m quite good at pulling bits of plastic to hard and they snap 😬😬

I’m not sure on the 10 to 12 MY but the 12> has 3 connectors at the base of the seat back and then there are 3 more at the front of the seat to connect into the body harness. I think it’s just 2 connectors for your year, one will be signal and the other will be power, Earth, can etc.

Ok so I’ve had a quick look at the cables and the one at the back of the seat which plugs into a module seems to cut the power etc to the screen and after reconnecting a couple of times this doesn’t make any difference 🙃
There are some cables as M3Bobby says at the front of the seat but I can’t see easily how to remove the plastic cover from the seat front to get to them.
Any advice on how to remove the plastic cover from the bottom of the passengers seat ??
Thanks in advance for your continued advice guys 👍

If it’s the same as the 2012, you just pull it as it’s on 4 clips.
