Okay, I renewed three family passports on line yesterday.
Despite doing them one after the other, I ended up having to send the old passports to the Passport Offices, one to Belfast, one to Liverpool and the last to Peterborough. You couldn’t make this up!

I’ve just renewed two online one after the other, both went to Liverpool. Seems a bit random your three went to three different offices.
Both were returned, with the new passports within two weeks from the date I did it online. Considering I’m in Australia I thought that was a pretty quick turnaround. MY14 TDV6

Online passport renewal is superb - mine took 4 days.
Not sure why it’s an issue to send to different offices - don’t they have to be posted separately anyway and it’s probably due to workload balancing to improve efficiency on the manual part of the process? Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

No, not a problem, just seemed strange.
You’re right, the addresses all have to include the unique identifier number.
I did one online a couple of months ago and it took 3 weeks. It will be interesting to see whos the quickest here. I sent them first class signed for delivery this morning.
My own is valid for another couple of years, but I end up doing them for all the family and paying for them all as well.

It ain’t cheap is it☹️
I did mine in early January which is why I suspect it was so quick. Did the Mrs’s in February and that took a couple of days longer. Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

I thought this thread was going to be about the issues around the verifying persons address.
I had to renew my daughters passport in March - for those yet to use the new online system you nominate a person that knows you to electronically confirm your identity as opposed to the writing on the back of the picture I have known XYZ for 7 years. The passport office then sends them a secure link to confirm all your details. As part of thesecurity on the link you have to provide your UK passport details and your address. I had to nominate 4 people - the first 3 all failed to probide data that matched the passport office data. It can only have been an address issue because they all had their passports in front of them when they entered the data so would be hard to mistype 3 times in a row, which is when the system blocks you and asks the passport applicant to choose a new verifier.
I don't know which database the passport office take their address info from though. 1st person had moved house 4 months ago so fair enough maybe things not fully updated re electoral role, credit files etc but the other two have been in the same addresses for 8 and 10 years. My final choice was a frind whonhas lived at the same address for over 40 years - his worked fine 😂😂
Despite this small hic cup I do think the new system is a great improvment on the old one - no long forms to complete, no worrying about if photo is correct specifiacation (instant confirmation once uploaded now) and no standing in a Post Office queue for 30 mins waiting for someone to tell you everything is fine with your form which you knew anyway because you'd spent the last two days filling it in and checking and rechecking it.
