Reverse light trigger

Anyone know of a reverse light trigger wire up near the dash anywhere before I go searching? Thanks!

There are 2 reverse light fuses. Behind glovebox

You could use a piggy back fuse off them

Or on rear view mirror

What’s it for?

There is a trigger in the stereo loom that i used for the reverse camera, i updated the head unit and the adapter harness has a wire specifically for this.
Its the purple wire in this pic and will correlate to a wire in the factory loom.

Correct, the reverse signal is transmitted on the CAN bus (on both auto and manual)

The CJB reads the CAN message and switches on the reverse lamps using an internal relay feeding out through Fuse 5.

That Connects2 unit must read the message from CAN and generate the hardwire signal on its purple/white wire. You can see the twisted pair of wires for the CAN bus going into the Connects2 module. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
