Suspension wiring to check? |
|
Hi
A member on here has found that his 'normal height only' error and amber bong was caused by a broken wire as diagnosed by local Indy.
Is there some guidance out there on checking this? I'm having the amber bong and wonder if this could be the cause....
....still holding out against buying a new compressor when it could be something as simple and cheap to repair as this...
Cheers

Feeling your pain!
the three connectors behind the UK nearside front wheelarch liner are a prime suspect, as is the wiring to the height sensors.

The front wheel arch liner? Is that easy to get off and replace?
Thanks in advance.

They are at the rear end of the wheelarch just above the chassis member.
Remove the wheel, then the three screws holding the mudflap on if fitted.
Then all the plastic push in fastener in the back half of the liner and bend it in on itself to get to the thee connectors.
You may need to un-pop just the rear end of the plastic outer wheelarch.
It’s easier to remove the nut holding their plastic backing plate to the body before pulling them forward to unclip them from the plate and undo them.
You'll find them filthy and covered in all sorts of stuff.

When testing the connectors how to do it?
Tug at the wires?
I have a volt meter with continuity tester is there a recommended method to use this?
Never really tested car electrics so any hints & advice would be most welcome.
Cheers
