Battery Drain
So, new battery fitted in January. Car not used for a couple of weeks and battery flat, it managed to unlock the doors, but not much else. Disconnected battery and charged it 13+ volts, after one week battery still at 12.8V.
New clamp meter arrived today so reconnected battery shorted out bonnet switch and locked the car.
These are readings I am getting from the fuse box feed and the alternator/starter feed.
Am I correct in thinking that the alternator is drawing too much current?
Thanks in advance.Simon.

Hi
I went through this and in the end found it was my memory seat module, mines a base model and it came with the electric Seats I bought
Have u seen robbies guide and did u wait 25 x mins for the system to go to sleep
I turned my battery red lead over so was easier to get the clamp meter on
See how u get on with turning ur cable round and waiting for it to sleep and then plse let us know what readings you’ve got
More than happy to share the experience I picked up when I was looking for my residual battery drain and help all I can
Readings with battery drain
Readings without battery drain after removing memory seat module
I had to also test my J fuses and this was how I did it

Looks as though urs is below 22ma, which is normal , however if someone would be so kind to 100% confirm that for u plse , I always tend to get mixed up with the decimal point
Thks

Apologises Pete , the second one where it says 17
Also thought the other test was engine running , setting the meter to AC v and putting it across pos and neg posts and shouldn’t be above 0.5 v hopefully I’ve got that bit correct , is ref the alternators diode

Thanks for the replies. The readings were taken after 20mins. I will try and get under the car later this week and disconnect the alternator lead to confirm that there is a problem there.Simon.

Have any fault codes come up by any chance plse
Also with the engine running , set ur multimeter to AC volts , putting ur test leads from ur multimeter on each battery post, see if there any voltage there , should be under 0.5 volts
Then whilst the engine is running and nothing switched on see what the volts are , , then turn on everything on, ie heater , seats etc etc , then try taking another reading to rsee what ur volts are then
Hope that helps

Changed battery and alternator. no help. Found out tha there s a switch to the winch relay that was on. put it on off and seems to have helped.
